British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is considering seeking the post of NATO secretary general in the future, The Observer reports.
According to the newspaper, the position is expected to become vacant in 2028.
The report says this month's G7 summit demonstrated the high level of trust and support Starmer enjoys among European leaders.
It also cites Starmer's close contacts with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, noting that the two leaders hold regular phone conversations, as a factor that could strengthen his prospects.
However, no official announcement has been made regarding any intention by Starmer to seek the position of NATO secretary general.
