The devastating earthquakes in Venezuela do not appear to have impacted the country’s oil infrastructure, according to Reuters.

The agency based its assessment on the fact that almost none of the Venezuelan cities affected by destruction host major oil facilities.

Authorities in Maracaibo, near a major oil field, said no casualties were reported following the tremors.

However, one source told Reuters that prolonged power outages after the earthquake could negatively affect oil production operations.
