Argentine forward Lionel Messi has declined to give a direct answer on whether he plans to take part in the 2030 FIFA World Cup, insider Fabrizio Romano has stated.
Sharing a post on X, Romano said Messi noted that he is focused on the present rather than long-term plans, Caliber.Az reports.
“Leo Messi when asked about playing at the 2030 World Cup: “I don't know. The truth is, I'm not thinking about that right now. It seems a bit far off... but, as I said, I'm living one day at a time and focused on the present,” Romano wrote.
The legendary striker, 39, scored 5 goals in 2026 FIFA World Cup matches, hitting a hat-trick against Algeria and a brace against Austria.
