Azerbaijan is taking part in the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026, which is underway in Budapest, Hungary, on June 24–25 and brings together leading figures from the global higher education sector.

Azerbaijan's State Agency for Science and Higher Education told Caliber.Az that the summit serves as a major international platform for discussions on the challenges and future development of higher education, bringing together university leaders, international experts, government officials, and representatives of the business community from across the world.

The agenda focuses on a range of strategic issues shaping the future of higher education, including institutional development, strengthening universities' positions in international rankings, the changing skills landscape in the age of artificial intelligence, collaboration between academia and industry, digital transformation, and the expansion of international partnerships.

Azerbaijan is represented at the event by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, the Study in Azerbaijan initiative, and a delegation comprising rectors and senior representatives of the country's leading universities.

Officials say participation in the summit provides an important opportunity to further integrate Azerbaijan's higher education system into the global academic community, enhance the international profile of Azerbaijani universities, establish new avenues for cooperation, and promote the country's educational potential to a wider international audience.

The event is expected to facilitate networking and dialogue between educational institutions, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, while creating new prospects for academic collaboration and knowledge exchange.
