Türkiye and Armenia have held talks on the possible restoration of railway and road connections that previously linked the two countries.
According to Caliber.Az, Türkiye’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu said on X that, discussions with Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, focused on steps needed to revive cross-border transport routes that were once actively used.
Uraloğlu said the two sides reviewed progress on preparatory work and tender processes being carried out by Armenia, while Türkiye has already launched technical maintenance work on its side in anticipation of potential reopening.
The meeting also addressed plans to restore the historic Ani Bridge, located near the ancient Silk Road city of Ani in Kars province.
Both sides described the structure as an important cultural and historical landmark and discussed possible restoration steps.
