Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have discussed closer cooperation in the field of social protection, focusing on pension provision, digitalisation and labour market programmes during talks in Baku.


A meeting was held at the DOST Agency between Azerbaijan’s Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev and his Turkmen counterpart Muhammedseyit Silapov.


According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, the visiting delegation from Turkmenistan also toured DOST Centre No. 1, where officials presented the agency’s model and its suite of digital social services.


The discussions covered the modernisation of social insurance systems, expansion of digital public services, vocational training and retraining programmes, occupational safety standards, employment support initiatives, and broader pension system reforms.


Officials also confirmed that a draft agreement on pension provision between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan has already been prepared.
