Human remains have been discovered during excavation works in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam District.

The findings were made in the village of Bash Garvand while earth-moving work was being carried out, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Workers reportedly came across skeletal remains at the site and immediately halted activity.

Authorities were promptly notified and personnel from relevant agencies were dispatched to the scene to secure the area and begin preliminary examinations.

Officials have ordered forensic analysis to determine the age, origin and possible identity of the remains. It has not yet been established whether the skeleton is linked to historical burials or more recent events.

An investigation is ongoing.
