Finland and Sweden joined NATO because they wanted to “profit at Russia’s expense,” just like other European countries, Russia’s State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has stated.

In an interview with Vesti, he questioned why Finland and Sweden joined NATO, saying they “wanted to take a piece of this pie for themselves,” Caliber.Az reports.

He noted that Russian authorities, for their part, must do everything possible to protect citizens.

“Those who think they can stop our country’s development are mistaken. It will not work. Victory will be ours,” the politician added.
