Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev met with the Executive Director of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), Workneh Gebeyehu Negewo, to discuss strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and IGAD member states in areas including politics, economics, education and transport.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides emphasised the importance of maintaining regular high-level exchanges and strengthening institutional mechanisms to support sustained political dialogue.
They also highlighted the value of reciprocal visits in deepening ties between Azerbaijan and IGAD countries.
The discussions further included views on developing cooperation within bilateral and multilateral frameworks, alongside broader regional and international issues of mutual interest, the ministry said.
