A fire has broken out near the Russian town of Shebekino in the Belgorod region, reportedly at a storage facility containing flammable or combustible materials, according to an open-source intelligence (OSINT) analysis by ASTRA.
On the evening of June 17, the monitoring channel “Shepot Shebekino” published photos and videos from eyewitnesses showing a large fire. The channel reported that sightings of a Ukrainian drone in the area had been reported minutes before the blaze erupted.
Based on geolocation analysis of the footage, ASTRA said the fire occurred in an industrial zone on the border between the villages of Rzhevka and Voznesenovka, approximately 7.5 kilometres from Shebekino. The nearest petrol station is located just beyond the identified site.
According to the OSINT assessment, the images suggest that a warehouse containing flammable or combustible materials is burning. Analysts also noted that it is possible the storage facilities were used for military-related goods, which they described as common in settlements located near frontline areas.
