BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 15. President of the
Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb has stated that the newly
announced agreement between the United States and Iran will exert a
highly significant impact on both regional dynamics and the global
economy by paving the way to end the war and reopen the Strait of
Hormuz.
This is reflected in an official statement published by the
Finnish President on his X social media account.
"This agreement paves the way for ending the war and opening the
Strait of Hormuz, which will have a significant impact on the
region and the global economy," the statement says.
The President noted that the current diplomatic opening must be
utilized constructively by all sides. Furthermore, the Finnish head
of state urged the participating nations to capitalize on this
positive momentum to work toward finding a durable, long-term
solution to the broader conflict in full accordance with
international law.
A ceasefire agreement has been reached between the U.S and Iran,
calling for an immediate and permanent cessation of military
hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The potential agreement between Iran and the U.S. covers issues
related to sanctions, nuclear weapons, and the reopening of the
Strait of Hormuz. Specifically, Tehran has agreed to refrain from
developing and acquiring nuclear weapons.
