An Antonov An-32 transport aircraft operated by the Indian Air Force crashed while attempting to land at Jorhat Air Base in the northeastern Indian state of Assam, the air force said.


According to the Indian Air Force, the accident occurred during the aircraft’s landing approach at the base, located in the city of Jorhat, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media


Authorities have not yet released information regarding possible casualties or injuries. Emergency responders and rescue teams were deployed to the crash site and are conducting operations in the area.



The Indian Air Force said a special commission will be established to investigate the incident and determine the cause of the crash.


The An-32 is a twin-engine military transport aircraft widely used by the Indian Air Force for logistics, troop transport, and operations in challenging terrain, including mountainous regions.
