BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 7. Iranian President
Masoud Pezeshkian has recently met with Supreme Leader Seyyed
Mojtaba Khamenei, Trend
reports.


Pezeshkian made the announcement during a meeting with business
leaders in Tehran on Thursday.


The president said the talks were held in a cordial atmosphere
and lasted for two and a half hours.


Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of strengthening unity,
trust and solidarity in governing the country. He noted that senior
Iranian officials consistently stress the need for cohesion and
mutual confidence during official meetings.







“At the current sensitive stage for the country and the region,
the positive role of the country’s leadership can play an important
part in improving governance, increasing hope and solidarity, and
strengthening public ties,” he said.


On Feb. 28, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei
was killed in U.S. and Israeli airstrikes targeting Iran. On March
8, Iran’s Assembly of Experts voted by majority to appoint his son,
Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, as the country’s third Supreme Leader.
