Turkish satellite communications provider PROFEN and Azercosmos have signed a cooperation agreement aimed at expanding satellite connectivity services across multiple regions.

Azercosmos told Caliber.Az correspondent that the agreement was signed during the SAHA Expo 2026 held in Istanbul.

Under the terms of the deal, the two sides will collaborate on the use of satellite capacity, with PROFEN planning to deliver satellite communication services across Türkiye, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa by leveraging the capabilities of the Azerspace-1 and Azerspace-2 satellites.

“The cooperation includes the integration of PROFEN’s ground infrastructure located in Konya and Ankara with Azercosmos’ existing satellite capabilities. In addition, the cooperation covers satellite communications in the field of mobile communications, including in-flight connectivity and maritime communications,” the statement said.

The partnership will involve integrating PROFEN’s terrestrial infrastructure in Konya and Ankara with Azercosmos’ satellite systems, enabling broader service delivery across key markets.

The initiative is designed to address rising demand for connectivity by offering more flexible and reliable internet and communication solutions throughout the region.
