Germany is prepared to support a potential international mission aimed at securing the Strait of Hormuz by contributing demining and maritime surveillance capabilities, according to a report by Süddeutsche Zeitung on April 16.


The report said German Chancellor Friedrich Merz is expected to present the proposal during a meeting in Paris on April 17 with counterparts from France, Britain and Italy, Caliber.Az reports per foreign media


The initiative comes as European governments explore ways to enhance the security of shipping routes through the strategically vital waterway, amid rising regional tensions.
