Lebanon has said it is not aware of any planned contact with Israel, following comments by US President Donald Trump suggesting that the two sides were preparing to hold talks.
“We are not aware of any planned contact with the Israeli side, and we have not been informed of any through official channels,” an official Lebanese source told AFP on April 16.
Earlier, Trump said Washington was working to secure a brief pause between Israel and Lebanon and indicated that the first talks between the two countries’ leaders in 34 years were expected to take place on April 16.
