The northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy has once again come under Russian attack, with multiple drone strikes targeting an industrial area, according to Ukrainian authorities.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said Russian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) initially struck the city’s industrial zone, sparking a fire that rescue teams worked to contain, Caliber.Az reports.
“An enemy UAV struck the city’s industrial zone. Rescue workers managed to prevent the fire from spreading further. While the rescue workers were extinguishing the fire, the enemy launched a second strike,” the agency said in a statement.
Despite ongoing aerial threats, emergency crews continued their operations.
According to the agency, the same location was targeted again several hours later, igniting another fire. Emergency responders returned to the scene and extinguished the blaze once more.
“No reports of casualties have been received,” the statement said.
