Sri Lanka has evacuated and repatriated 238 Iranian sailors who were aboard a frigate torpedoed by a US submarine, as well as personnel from another vessel of Iran’s Navy, according to foreign media.

Deputy Defence Minister Aruna Jayasekara said that 32 sailors rescued from the IRIS Dena — which was attacked on March 4 off the coast of Sri Lanka — along with 206 sailors from a second vessel, left the South Asian island on April 14.
