US President Donald Trump said his administration is engaged in “heated negotiations” with Iran as tensions escalate ahead of a looming deadline tied to potential US strikes on the country’s energy infrastructure.
Speaking to Fox News, Trump declined to elaborate on the status of the discussions or signal how close the two sides might be to a resolution.
“I can't tell you, because right now we're in heated negotiations," he said.
