TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, April 2. Uzbekistan and
the United States discussed expanding cooperation in space
technologies, artificial intelligence, IT infrastructure, and
digital hubs, as well as the implementation of joint investment
projects, Trend
reports via the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.


The discussions took place during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s
Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and John Ahn,
Senior Specialist for Business Development at the Export-Import
Bank of the United States.


According to the ministry, particular attention was given to
Uzbekistan’s national space program, including plans to launch its
first artificial satellite and develop Earth remote sensing
capabilities.


The sides also explored the creation of a modern and resilient
digital infrastructure, as well as the potential role of U.S.
products and services in ongoing and future projects, with a focus
on aligning initiatives with relevant financing mechanisms.







The Uzbek side highlighted ongoing efforts to position the
country as a regional IT hub, including the establishment of
specialized centers, expansion of digital service exports, and the
creation of favorable conditions for international technology
companies.


The meeting concluded with an agreement to further expand
cooperation in key digital sectors and continue joint work on the
development and implementation of targeted investment projects.
