A Russian national, Anton Gulezan, has tragically died in an avalanche near the Myler ski resort in Armenia.


The 37-year-old, who was employed by the ski complex, went missing on the morning of March 16, around 11:37 a.m. The Ministry of Internal Affairs initially confirmed the incident without releasing further details. Sputnik Armenia reports.


A search and rescue operation lasting approximately six hours recovered Gulezan’s body beneath a snow layer estimated to be up to six metres deep.


A criminal investigation has been launched in connection with the incident, as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the avalanche.
