The United Arab Emirates’ air defence systems intercepted 10 ballistic missiles and 45 drones launched from Iranian territory today, March 17, Caliber.Az reports, citing the UAE Ministry of Defence.


According to a post the ministry shared on its X page, since the start of Iran’s “blatant aggression,” UAE air defences have successfully intercepted 314 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,672 drones.



The attacks have resulted in two military personnel killed, six fatalities of Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi and Palestinian nationalities.



The Ministry of Defence emphasised that the UAE remains in a high state of combat readiness, prepared to respond to any threats.


 The statement added that the country is committed to firmly countering all actions aimed at destabilising its security, safeguarding its sovereignty, and protecting its national interests and capabilities.
