Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi held a phone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, during which he condemned Iran's attacks on Gulf countries, Jordan, and Iraq.

El-Sisi emphasised that these countries are not involved in conflict with Iran and support diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington, according to a statement on the official Egyptian government website.

He expressed Egypt’s readiness to assist in de-escalation and the resumption of negotiations.

The Iranian president thanked Egypt for its efforts to reduce tensions and reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to maintaining good-neighbourly relations with Arab states and continuing negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
