On February 28, Israel and the United States carried out a series of strikes on Iranian territory. Major cities and military infrastructure facilities, including military bases and command centres, came under fire. In response, Iran launched missile strikes against Israeli territory, as well as against several other countries in the region — including facilities and airspace in the UAE, Jordan, Iraq, and Syria. Iranian state media reported that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, Ali Khamenei, was killed as a result of the strikes. According to official statements from Tehran, the attack occurred while he was at his working residence.

As of March 11, the situation in the region remains extremely tense. The sides continue exchanging statements, while new episodes of escalation are being recorded. The information is being updated as new reports emerge.
