Czech Foreign Minister Petr Matcinka has recalled the country’s ambassador from Iran for consultations in Prague, Radio Prague International reports.

On Saturday, 7 March, a spokesperson for the Czech Foreign Ministry confirmed that Ambassador Vitezslav Grepl had been recalled from Tehran. The embassy will continue to be led by a chargé d’affaires in the interim.

The recall of an ambassador for consultations is a diplomatic measure used by a state to signal dissatisfaction with its relations with another country.
