Two flights operated by Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) were forced to return to Baku following the closure of Iranian airspace.
Flight J2-011 en route from Baku to Dubai and flight J2-1091 from Baku to Jeddah both turned back as a precautionary measure, Caliber.Az reports per the airlines' press service.
The Baku–Dubai flight landed safely at Heydar Aliyev International Airport at 10:47 a.m. local time, while the Baku–Jeddah flight was expected to land shortly thereafter.
Passengers have been advised that they will be kept informed of any further changes to their travel plans in line with ongoing developments in the Middle East.
Multiple explosions were reported in Tehran, with additional blasts heard in several other locations across Iran, following a joint attack launched by Israel and the United States on February 28.
