Iran has significantly scaled back operations at its consulate in central London following protests linked to recent unrest in Iran.

Accordingt to Iran International, the consulate’s first floor has been fully evacuated and locked, with a substantial reduction in on-site staff. As a result, consular services are now being offered at a much more limited level than previously.

Images obtained by Iran International in recent days showed office equipment and administrative materials being removed from the building. Vehicles were also seen transporting staff and items to another location earlier this week.

The reported changes come after demonstrations were held outside Iran’s embassy and consulate in London during nationwide protests in Iran.

During the protests, British police deployed metal barriers and vehicles around the diplomatic premises to secure the area.
