Gold prices hit fresh record highs on January 14 as geopolitical tensions drove investors toward safe-haven assets, according to market data.

Spot gold rose 0.9 per cent to $4,628.75 per ounce by 10:06 GMT+4, after earlier touching an all-time high of $4,639.62, Caliber.Az reports.

Other precious metals also posted strong gains, with platinum up 3.9% and palladium rising 3.6%.

Analysts said growing geopolitical risks are boosting demand for precious metals as investors seek safer assets amid heightened global uncertainty.
