The US State Department issued a warning calling on Americans to depart Venezuela immediately due to ongoing instability and threats from armed groups, placing the country at the highest alert level—Level 4: “Do Not Travel.”
The statement advised US citizens to exercise caution while travelling, remain aware of their surroundings, and be mindful of potential checkpoints and inspections by armed groups reportedly seeking Americans or those supporting the United States, Caliber.Az reports.
Other risks cited include unlawful detention, terrorism, kidnapping, arbitrary enforcement of local laws, crime, civil unrest, and a weak healthcare system.
Venezuelan authorities strongly rejected the claims, accusing the US of creating a false threat narrative.
The country’s Foreign Ministry stated that Venezuela is “in absolute calm, peace, and stability,” with security forces fully in control.
The government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting peace, institutional stability, and coexistence among the population.
