Georgian authorities detained the Panamanian-flagged tanker CAMINERO for violating navigation rules in the country’s territorial waters, the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Border Police announced.


“Officers of the Border Police Operative-Investigation Division initiated proceedings against the tanker captain, who is a citizen of Turkiye, on the basis of violation of navigation rules, under Subparagraph ‘e’ of Part 1 of Article 114, Part 1 of the Administrative Offenses Code of Georgia,” the Border Police said in a statement, Caliber.Az reports, citing Georgian media.



The captain was fined GEL 15,000 ($5,550), payable to the state budget. After the fine was settled, the vessel was permitted to continue its journey.
