Israeli defence forces arrested four young men in the northern countryside of Syria's Quneitra in recent hours on January 8, following the establishment of a checkpoint between the town of Jbata al-Khashab and Ain al-Bayda village.

According to SANA’s correspondent in Quneitra in Syria, an Israeli unit comprising five military vehicles set up the checkpoint at the al-Kasarat junction, searching passers-by before detaining the four men from Jbata al-Khashab and transferring them to the al-Hamidiyah point, Caliber.Az reports.

Earlier, Israeli forces advanced into the area surrounding Tal al-Ahmar al-Sharqi in southern Quneitra and raised their flag over the site.
