Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has delivered a speech at the official opening ceremony of the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant at the Gulustan Palace in the capital Baku.
The event also featured speeches by Saudi Arabia’s Assistant Minister of Energy, Nasser Al-Qahtani; China’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Lu Mei; and the founder and CEO of ACWA Power, Mohammad Abunayyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president's official website.
Following the speeches, a short video about the new wind power plant project was shown.
Subsequently, Ilham Aliyev and Mohammad Abunayyan inaugurated the Khizi-Absheron wind power plant.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo.
The plant has a capacity of 240 MW and was built by the Saudi Arabian energy company ACWA Power.
