ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, January 7.
Lebapavtoulag, the state-run bus operator providing suburban and
intercity passenger transport services in Turkmenistan’s eastern
Lebap region, has announced changes to fares starting from January
2026,
Trend reports via the press service of the country’s
government.

The fare revision is linked to the modernization of transport
infrastructure in the region and the need to finance fleet renewal,
the introduction of digital technologies, and safety measures on
key routes.

Earlier, starting January 1, 2026, Turkmenistan put into force
simplified licensing rules for road transport activities under a
presidential decree approving a new regulation on licensing of road
transport operations. The updated framework streamlines
requirements for obtaining licenses for cargo transportation and
simplifies the list of required documents.

Since January 2026, the Ministry of Automobile Transport has
been taking applications from both people and businesses. To make
things easier for everyone, documents are sent through regional
communication systems.
