BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 7. The Trans Adriatic
Pipeline(TAP) is making available the additional long-term capacity
under a new gas transportation agreement (GTA) from January 2026,
TAP AG consortium told Trend.
"TAP, as the European section of a 3500 km Southern Gas
Corridor, widely recognized as a strategic energy infrastructure
for Europe, is making available the additional long-term capacity
under a new gas transportation agreement (GTA) from January 2026,
as booked during the 2021 Market Test," said the consortium.
TAP AG noted that the additional capacity comes five years after
TAP started transporting Caspian gas to Europe, underlining the
asset's state-of-the-art reliability and its substantial
contribution to Europe's diversification of supplies.
Five years have passed since Azerbaijan began exporting gas to
Europe via TAP. During this period, more than 54 bcm of gas has
been supplied to Europe via TAP.
As a critical component of the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP
transports natural gas from Azerbaijan’s Shah Deniz field in the
Caspian Sea directly to European markets.
