DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, January 6. Saudi Arabia
could establish broad cooperation with specialists in Tajikistan’s
energy sector, a key industry currently in a phase of active
development, Trend
reports via the press service of the Lower House of the Supreme
Parliament.
This was discussed during a meeting between Faizali Idizoda,
Speaker of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (lower house of the Supreme
Assembly) of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Hassan Moejeb
Alhwaizy, Chairperson of the Council of Federation of Saudi
Chambers of Commerce.
During the meeting, Faizali Idizoda emphasized that Saudi Arabia
was among the first countries to officially recognize Tajikistan’s
independence and establish political, economic, trade, and cultural
ties. Trade relations between the two countries remain one of the
priority areas of Tajikistan’s foreign economic policy, and we look
forward to further expanding cooperation with the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Faizali Idizoda also noted that the signing of the Memorandum of
Understanding on the establishment of a Joint Business Council
between Saudi Arabia and Tajikistan represents a strong step in the
development of Tajikistan’s trade sector. Saudi Arabia’s leadership
in trade in the Middle East can serve as a model for activities
across various sectors of the national economy.
In particular, he highlighted that the Majlisi Namoyandagon
(Lower House of the Supreme Assembly) of the Republic of Tajikistan
is a permanent professional body that promotes the comprehensive
development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Saudi Arabia, as
well as relations between entrepreneurs of both countries.
