Turkish Presidential Chief Advisor Cemil Ertem strongly condemned US strikes in Venezuela, describing them as “imperial banditry” and expressing support for the Venezuelan people and President Nicolás Maduro.
"We stand with the people of Venezuela and President Maduro! This banditry must not go unpunished," he wrote on X, Caliber.Az reports.
The statement comes following reports that US forces carried out early-morning attacks on multiple sites in Venezuela on January 3, including military facilities, with residents in Caracas reporting explosions and temporary power outages.
US officials said President Donald Trump authorised the action, citing concerns over alleged drug trafficking networks.
