A cyberattack has disrupted the online operations of France’s national postal service, La Poste, along with its affiliated bank, La Banque Postale, on the morning of January 1.

A notice displayed on La Poste’s website early in the morning stated: “The website laposte.fr and all La Poste information systems are currently under cyberattack.” The attack reportedly began around 03:30 local time, Agence France-Presse (AFP) reports.

As of noon, both the postal service and its bank’s websites remained inaccessible. The initial cyberattack notice has since been replaced with a message indicating the temporary unavailability of online services.

La Poste’s press office has not released any official statement regarding the incident.
