A resident of Kazakhstan’s Atyrau region has been sentenced to 10 days in detention after a medical examination revealed the non-medical use of narcotics, local media outlet NUR.KZ reports.


The incident occurred on December 18, 2025, when the man underwent a routine medical check-up. During the examination, authorities detected narcotic substances in his system.


At the subsequent court hearing, the man admitted his guilt and expressed remorse. The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 440-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Kazakhstan and issued a detention order, which has now entered into legal force.
