Officers from the Central Criminal Police Department of the Georgian Internal Ministry have arrested a Russian citizen for possession and smuggling of a large quantity of narcotics into Georgia.


Authorities discovered 1.2 kilograms of cocaine concealed in a hidden compartment inside the suspect’s luggage, Caliber.Az reports via Georgian media.


The street value of the drugs exceeds 1 million Georgian Lari ($370,000) based on current exchange rates.


The investigation is ongoing under Articles 260 and 262 of the Criminal Code, which carry penalties of up to 20 years’ imprisonment or life imprisonment.
