French Formula One driver Pierre Gasly of Alpine said he enjoys racing in Baku, describing the Azerbaijan Grand Prix circuit as a demanding track with plenty of opportunities for overtaking.
The 30-year-old driver made the remarks in comments to the press service of the French representative, as reported by Azerbaijani media.
“Baku always promises serious challenges. I like competing there, and I like the fast and twisty sections of the track. In addition, the races here are usually exciting because of the numerous overtaking opportunities. In 2021, I finished on the podium in Baku. But in recent years, our team’s performance at this track has not been very successful. I hope we will have an opportunity to score points,” Gasly said.
The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is scheduled to take place in Baku on September 24-26.
