Türkiye’s National Intelligence Organisation (MİT), in cooperation with the Adana Provincial Police Department, has carried out an operation targeting a drug trafficking network, detaining six people and seizing 375,000 drug tablets, TRT Haber reports.

Turkish authorities said MİT operatives had been conducting physical and technical surveillance of the suspects for a month over their alleged involvement in the large-scale distribution of psychotropic substances.

On September 18, security forces conducted simultaneous searches at several addresses in Adana, where they discovered a large shipment of drugs.

The detainees were taken to the police department for the necessary procedural proceedings.
