Baku is hosting the first congress of the Turkic World Composers’ Union as part of the 18th International Music Festival.
According to Report news agency, the event is being held at the Azerbaijan Composers’ Union building.
The congress brings together heads of composers’ organisations from Turkic states, musicologists, as well as representatives of the cultural sector, the public and the media.
Participants will discuss joint projects among Turkic states in the field of music, as well as prospects for further cooperation.
The 18th International Music Festival officially opened the previous day at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic Hall. The festival will run through September 30 and feature a range of concerts and other musical events.
