Robert Brovdi, the commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, has released footage allegedly showing the strike that killed Major General Anton Grunis, who had reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the “capture” of Kostiantynivka.
Brovdi said, as a man with a Hungarian surname, born in Ukraine and fighting with the “Birds” for the “Motherland”, he reports that General Grunis was “eliminated” by the “Birds” revenge unit of the Special Operations Forces in a dugout in the occupied territory of Donetsk Region, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
According to him, the operation was carried out on September 12, 2026.
Earlier, commenting on Grunis, Russian President Vladimir Putin said: “A man with a Lithuanian surname, born in Kazan, fights brilliantly.”
On September 16, Apti Alaudinov confirmed the death of Major General Anton Grunis, who had reported to Putin on the “capture” of Kostiantynivka and had been awarded the title of Hero of Russia two weeks earlier.
