Russian boxer Yegor Mekhontsev, the 2012 Olympic gold medallist, has been added to Ukraine’s Mirotvorets database, according to information published on the website.
The 41-year-old boxer is accused by the database of undermining Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and of supporting Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine.
Mekhontsev won Olympic gold in the under-81kg category at the 2012 London Games. He is also a 2009 world champion and two-time European champion, and holds the title of Honoured Master of Sport of Russia.
