The 7th Meeting of Muslim Religious Leaders of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) has begun in Baku, bringing together around 200 religious figures from nearly 40 countries.

The event is organised by the Caucasus Muslims’ Board and is attended by representatives of 18 international organisations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

The meeting provides a platform for Muslim religious leaders from the OTS member and observer states, as well as other participating countries and international organisations, to discuss issues of common interest and strengthen cooperation among religious institutions.

The Organisation of Turkic States (OTS) is an intergovernmental organisation bringing together Turkic-speaking countries to promote cooperation in areas including politics, the economy, transport, culture and education. Its members are Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, while Hungary, Turkmenistan and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have observer status.
