Former Yerevan Mayor Gagik Beglaryan will remain in pretrial detention for another two months, Armenian authorities have confirmed.
As Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media, the extension of Beglaryan’s detention was confirmed by the Prosecutor’s Office.
A criminal case was previously opened against the former mayor over the alleged unlawful appropriation of 27 properties in Yerevan, with a combined estimated value of $40 million.
Beglaryan remains in custody as the investigation into the alleged property-related offenses continues.
