Azerbaijan has built up substantial expertise in deploying mine detection dogs over the past two decades and is now in a position to share its accumulated knowledge internationally, Executive Director of the Marshall Legacy Institute Elise Becker said.
During the 4th International Mine Action Conference in Baku, Becker noted that cooperation initially involved transferring expertise and practical experience to Azerbaijan, while the exchange has since evolved into a two-way process, according to local media.
“Azerbaijan has accumulated such significant experience in this area that it can now share its knowledge with us to the same extent that we can share our experience with it,” Becker noted.
She also underscored the importance of strengthening regional and international cooperation in mine action, particularly through the exchange of experience and best practices.
“I believe that given the capacity Azerbaijan possesses today in the deployment of mine detection dogs, the country is excellently positioned to participate in international knowledge sharing,” she said.
