The United States is not seeking to bring about regime change in Iran; however, that may happen, says US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
In an interview with Newsmax, he acknowledged that such a scenario was possible, Caliber.Az reports.
“We are going to sever all of their economic ties with the outside world,” he noted.
In his words, Iran is cut off from the dollar system.
"The goal here isn't necessarily to collapse the regime," he said, adding that the government could fall if Iranians rose up amid inflation, shortages, and economic disruption.
