Hezbollah launched two explosive drones toward Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon overnight Wednesday, prompting Israeli forces to strike Hezbollah positions in response, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said.

According to the IDF, the drones were launched toward Israeli troops near the Ali al-Taher Ridge. Israeli soldiers shot down one of the drones, while no injuries were reported among the troops.

The IDF said it subsequently carried out strikes against Hezbollah infrastructure in the Nabatieh area of southern Lebanon. According to the military, the targeted sites were used by Hezbollah to plan and direct attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers operating in the area.

The IDF said the strikes were conducted to address what it described as an immediate threat and that its forces would continue operating in the ridge area to prevent further attacks by Hezbollah.
