The death toll from a devastating flash flood in Nepal has risen to 1,127, while another 4,858 people remain missing, Indian media reports, citing the country’s police.
Rescue operations have entered their eighth day following the disaster. Security forces have so far rescued 6,541 people from the affected areas.
Police said post-mortem examinations and legal identification procedures had been completed for 1,113 bodies, while 95 bodies had been handed over to relatives.
Details of 911 unidentified bodies have been published on the police website to assist with identifying the victims.
Search-and-rescue operations for the 4,858 people still reported missing are continuing.
